About Yat Tiu Rice Noodle Rolls

Discover Yat Tiu Rice Noodle Rolls, a culinary gem located at Unit 5/22 Gowan Rd, Sunnybank Hills QLD 4113, Australia. As a food blogger constantly exploring the best restaurants in Sunnybank Hills, I was genuinely impressed by this humble yet standout destination for authentic Cantonese street food. Yat Tiu Rice Noodle Rolls brings a focused menu and a clear mastery of its craft, making it one of the most memorable local dining experiences in the area.

Specializing in freshly made rice noodle rolls, Yat Tiu Rice Noodle Rolls delivers a delicate balance of texture and flavor that reflects true expertise. The menu is concise but thoughtfully curated, featuring classic fillings such as prawn, BBQ pork, and beef, along with crispy Chinese donut (youtiao) variations that add a satisfying crunch. Prices are reasonable, typically ranging from AUD $6 to $12 per dish, making it accessible for both quick bites and casual meals. The restaurant also offers takeaway options, efficient service, and a clean, no-frills dining environment.

Among the signature dishes, the Prawn Rice Noodle Rolls stand out with their silky, almost translucent sheets wrapped around plump, juicy prawns, finished with a light soy-based sauce. The BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Rolls offer a slightly sweet and savory profile, while the Youtiao Rice Noodle Rolls provide a unique textural contrast that keeps diners coming back. One customer review noted, “The texture is incredibly smooth and fresh-better than many places I’ve tried in Brisbane,” which aligns closely with my own experience.

The space itself is modest but welcoming, with simple decor that reflects its focus on food rather than aesthetics. It’s the kind of place where authenticity takes center stage. Seating is casual, and while it may not be ideal for large groups, it suits solo diners or small gatherings perfectly. The staff are friendly and efficient, often preparing dishes right in front of you, adding a sense of transparency and craftsmanship.

What sets Yat Tiu Rice Noodle Rolls apart from competitors is its dedication to freshness and consistency. Unlike larger establishments with extensive menus, this spot focuses on doing a few things exceptionally well. Compared to other local dining experiences in Sunnybank Hills, it offers a more specialized and authentic take on Cantonese comfort food.

While the limited menu might not cater to those seeking variety, it’s precisely this focus that ensures quality. For anyone craving genuine rice noodle rolls made with care and precision, Yat Tiu Rice Noodle Rolls in Sunnybank Hills is a must-visit. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, this spot invites you to experience one of the best restaurants in Sunnybank Hills with flavors that truly speak for themselves.

Customer Reviews

“ Small and busy restaurant. Had to wait a bit for a seat. Somehow they lost our order as well, reported that they were having issues with their point of sale and printer connection. On the plus side, when made aware of the missed order, dishes came pretty quickly. The rice noodle dishes are good. With some other Hong Kong snack classics. Their French toast was interesting with peanut butter added for extra flavour. ”

“ My favourite congee restaurant in Brisbane ՞⸝⸝ᵒ̴̶̷ ???? ᵒ̴̶̷⸝⸝՞ I’ve been here many times and it never disappointed! What I ordered: Samoan Congee with seafood ($15.8) The congee is smooth and flavorful, topped with crispy shallots, peanuts, shredded lettuce, and sliced fish, creating a satisfying mix of textures. It’s comforting and well-balanced. Barbecue rice noodle roll ($12.8) The rice noodle rolls are soft and silky, filled with tender meat and complemented by a rich, fragrant soy sauce. A classic, delicious Cantonese breakfast. Also, you should try their Hong Kong-style milk tea — it’s sooo good! Just don’t have it in the afternoon, or you might be up until midnight haha. “ Authentic rice noodle rolls! Thin soft layer with choices of toppings to choose from. Nice portion, reasonable price. Small dining area, waited about 15 minutes. Parking can be challenging during peak hours. ”

“ If you’re looking for a place that serves delicious, comforting, and satisfying Hong Kong-style food without the heavy, bloated feeling afterward, Yat Tiu Rice Noodle Rolls is the spot! Every bite was a reminder of why simple, well, made dishes hit the soul. The congee was silky smooth and perfectly seasoned, just the right texture to warm your heart. The wonton noodle soup was light yet flavorful, with springy noodles and delicate, plump wontons that were absolutely spot on. I also tried their signature rice noodle rolls, and wow they were fresh, silky, and paired perfectly with the sweet soy sauce. Even the siu mai, which you might expect to be ordinary, had great flavor and texture clearly made with care. The fried bread stick (youtiao) was crispy and not oily at all, a perfect companion for dipping into the congee. To top it all off, I tried both the hot and cold Ovaltine drinks, and they were nostalgic, rich, and refreshing each in their own way. Best of all? I left feeling satisfied but not heavy or bloated, which is rare when you enjoy so many dishes in one sitting. Highly recommended for anyone craving authentic taste and great value in a cozy setting. I’ll definitely be back! ”

“ So nice to have rice noodle rolls in Brisbane!! It's difficult to find an authentic HK style rice noodle rolls overseas. Loving the flavour! The restaurant is clean but quite busy, get a number as soon as you arrive to be in the queue. Will definitely return! ;D Edit: Returned again, tried different congee and rice noodle roll combos, still love em! ”

“ What a pleasant surprise to find this noodle roll shop. We were looking for lunch and saw the full parking lot and stopped to investigate. Every dish was made fresh and piping hot. Seasoned well, we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. There were tons of take-away orders too, which is a great sign of their food quality. The dining area is well lit, and the staff do a good job of clearing the tables as soon as patrons leave. I have saved this location for the next time that we want a quick brekky or lunch! ”

“ Best Hong Kong rice noodle for me and my family. Become a regular for this busy spot. My kids love this healthy rice noodle and I can see other kids also love the food. Not only for kids of course!! I love noodle soups here, because l like the texture of noodle and soup flavours for both beef and pork. Thank you for good food!! ”

“ If you’re hunting for a little slice of Hong Kong without boarding a plane (or selling a kidney for the ticket), Yat Tiu’s rice noodle rolls will do the job. The rice rolls themselves? Pretty good, smooth enough to pass the test, though maybe not in the “write-home-to-grandma” category. They’ve got a decent spread of Chinese breakfast options, leaning toward Hong Kong style, which is perfect for those mornings when you want something more soulful than smashed avo. The Cantonese flavours hit the spot, not Michelin-level, but they’ll scratch that itch you’ve had since your last dim sum binge. Drinks are… interesting. Slightly different from what I’m used to, as if they’ve taken the classic recipes on a little side trip before serving them. Still, they do the trick, and honestly, half the fun is in the surprise. All in all: not the absolute best, but definitely satisfying enough to keep my cravings for Cantonese breakfast under control, at least until I book that flight to Hong Kong. ”
